Reading the number honestly

Baseline versus trajectory.

One test tells you where you are. It cannot tell you which way you are heading. Two people can start from an identical result and be moving in opposite directions, and a single test cannot separate them. That is the whole argument for measuring more than once.

Biological age testing is useful and routinely oversold. How accurate is it? Accurate enough to be a reference point and, when repeated, a trend; not precise enough to be treated as a verdict. It can prompt better questions when a result does not match how you feel. It cannot prove that aging has been reversed, predict how long you will live, or prove what caused a change. HFW treats it as one input among several, read alongside your symptoms, history, conventional bloodwork, and goals.

Reading the number honestly

What a biological age result can and cannot tell you.

Biological age testing is genuinely useful and it is also routinely oversold. Being clear about both halves is part of how HFW uses it, and it is the difference between a number that informs a plan and a number that just sells one.

DNA methylation is a chemical tag your cells add to DNA to switch genes on and off. The pattern shifts with age, environment, and behavior, which is what makes it measurable, and why measuring it more than once tells you something a single genetic test never can.

How old does this tissue look?First-generation clocks: intrinsic and extrinsic age.

Measures rate rather than accumulated state, answering whether you are currently aging faster or slower than one year per year. It is the output most likely to move first, often within three months of a real change in what you do. Overall biological age is slower, usually six months or more.

Why the algorithms matter

The laboratory HFW uses offers all three generations of clocks, and the algorithms behind them are published and peer-reviewed. What they produce is an estimate. Estimates are useful precisely because they can be repeated and compared.

The output HFW finds most actionable is not the headline number. The same methylation data produces system-level estimates, which is how the report indicates that one system looks more strained than another. A single whole-body age is interesting. What actually happens on the introductory call

It is a conversation, not a sales call. An advanced care clinician works through what is going on with you, what you have already tried, what you are hoping to change, and any results you already have.

You leave with a recommended starting point. In almost every case that is testing, and which of the three above makes sense depends on what you are trying to answer. If HFW is not the right fit for you right now, you will be told that too.

Your results are then reviewed with you over video, and that conversation is where any longer-term options, including membership, get discussed. Nothing about that is decided on the first call.

Chronological age is how many years you have lived. Biological age is an estimate of how your body appears to be aging, based on measurable biological patterns rather than your birthday. Two people the same chronological age can show meaningfully different biological patterns. Biological age is an estimate and a piece of context, not a diagnosis and not a prediction of lifespan.

No one can promise that. Epigenetic testing estimates patterns associated with the pace and systems of aging, and a score can move. What a score change does not prove is that a person has literally reversed aging, that they will live longer, or that one specific treatment caused the change. HFW uses biological age as one layer of context alongside your history, conventional labs, body composition, and function, and does not guarantee age reversal.

TruAge is an epigenetic assessment that uses DNA methylation patterns and vendor algorithms to estimate aging-related patterns, pace of aging, and system or organ-level aging outputs. HFW uses it to add long-term context and to create a baseline that can be tracked alongside conventional risk factors, symptoms, function, and body composition. It is not a diagnosis.

TruAge is $500 standalone, covering the test and the clinician review together. TruAge combined with TruHealth is $750, covering both tests and the review. Longevity Membership members are entitled to additional discounts. TruAge is also included in the $1,250 Health Blueprint alongside TruHealth and GI-MAP.

Pace of aging is an estimate of how quickly biological aging patterns appear to be progressing, as opposed to a single point-in-time age estimate. It is one output among several and is interpreted alongside your symptoms, conventional labs, body composition, and function. It is context for prioritizing long-term care, not a verdict.

Some epigenetic reports estimate aging-related patterns for particular systems rather than one whole-body number. These estimates can help a clinician think about where to focus first. An elevated system-level estimate does not mean that organ has a disease, and it is interpreted alongside conventional evaluation.

TruAge estimates aging-related patterns using epigenetics. TruHealth is HFW’s advanced health assessment used to establish and monitor patterns across areas such as metabolic health, cellular and mitochondrial health, insulin resistance, nutrients, fatty acids, oxidative stress, immune and inflammatory patterns, hormone-related markers, and selected environmental exposures. TruAge tells you about pace and pattern of aging. TruHealth tells you what is currently happening that you may be able to act on. Many patients do both, which is why they are packaged together at $750.

No. It is an estimate of aging-related biological patterns, not a lifespan prediction. It also does not replace conventional risk assessment, guideline-recommended screening, or your physician’s evaluation.

HFW retests when the result can guide the next decision, not on a fixed marketing schedule. For members, biological age testing is an add-on rather than part of the quarterly TruHealth cycle. Your clinician will tell you what would need to change for a retest to be worth doing.

No. Peptides and bioregulators are optional tools inside a broader plan, not the plan itself. Most longevity strategies begin with measurement, then addressing meaningful dysfunction and foundations such as metabolic health, sleep, nutrition, training, and hormone patterns. An advanced therapy is considered only when there is a defined objective, appropriate evaluation, and a monitoring plan.

The introductory call is $0. A common longevity starting point is either the $450 initial TruHealth assessment or the $1,250 Health Blueprint, which combines TruAge, TruHealth, and GI-MAP with one integrated clinician presentation. Ongoing care through the Longevity Membership is $225 per month with an initial 12-month commitment, and the separate $450 initial TruHealth assessment is required before enrollment. Conventional bloodwork is billed separately by the laboratory.

The Health Blueprint is a $1,250 comprehensive assessment combining TruAge, TruHealth, and GI-MAP testing. An advanced care clinician reviews the results together, identifies your most important priorities, and presents a personalized roadmap in one integrated presentation. Conventional bloodwork is not included and is billed separately by the laboratory. Follow-up after the presentation is not included, and membership is not included. After the presentation you and the clinician discuss what makes sense next.
